Focus: are chillers the answer in a low GWP world?

On April 20-21 in Bangkok was held a two-day workshop on HFC Management, which preceded the OEWG Montreal Protocol meeting. On this occasion technical experts and industry representatives discussed about HFCs and their alternatives. The main focus was on the difficult use of low GWP refrigerants for medium-size air conditioning systems and the possibility to move towards a broader use of chillers, which provide good performance with different low GWP alternatives including hydrocarbons, HFOs, ammonia and water.
