Schade, dass Umweltaspekte erst in den 1970er Jahren ber\u00fccksichtigt wurden. Tats\u00e4chlich wurden bei diesen neuen K\u00e4ltemitteln, FCKW und H-FCKW, Chlor und Fluor in gro\u00dfen Mengen verwendet. Ungl\u00fccklicherweise wurde festgestellt, dass diese Elemente sowohl zum Abbau des atmosph\u00e4rischen Ozons, als auch zur Entstehung des Treibhauseffekts wesentlich beigetragen haben.<\/p>\n<h3>Montreal-Protokoll und nachfolgende Beschr\u00e4nkungen<\/h3>\n<p>Der Umweltnotstand f\u00fchrte zu einem globalen Abkommen, dem Montrealer Protokoll (1992), das zun\u00e4chst den Verzicht auf FCKW und sp\u00e4ter auf H-FCKW vorsah. Danach folgten im Laufe der Jahre international und national weitere Vereinbarungen und Regelungen mit weiteren Beschr\u00e4nkungen des Einsatzes von Gasen mit hohem Treibhauseffekt. Darum kam es zur Einf\u00fchrung des GWP-Index (Global Warming Potential), einem allgemein anerkannten Parameter, mit dem deutlich werden soll, ob die Stoffe aus \u00f6kologischer Sicht mehr oder weniger nachhaltig sind. Die HFOs behalten tats\u00e4chlich eine hohe Effizienz bei und reduzieren gleichzeitig die Umweltbelastung erheblich, da sich ihre Molek\u00fcle in der Atmosph\u00e4re sehr schnell zersetzen, was zu einem sehr niedrigen GWP f\u00fchrt. Dar\u00fcber hinaus sind diese K\u00e4ltemittel nach ASHRAE 34 als A2L klassifiziert, d.h. ungiftig und leicht entz\u00fcndlich. Tats\u00e4chlich ben\u00f6tigen sie zum Entz\u00fcnden mindestens 1000-mal mehr Energie als Kohlenwasserstoffe, und die Brenngeschwindigkeit ist so gering, dass sich die Flammen im Falle einer Entz\u00fcndung sehr langsam ausbreiten und von selbst verl\u00f6schen. Diese chemischen K\u00e4ltemittel haben sehr niedrige GWP-Werte (0 bis 4) und werden als \u201enat\u00fcrlich\u201c bezeichnet, da die genannten Stoffe in der Natur vorkommen. Paradoxerweise waren sie die ersten K\u00e4ltemittel, die um die Jahrhundertwende verwendet wurden, aber weil sie einige Probleme in Bezug auf Hygienestandards, Sicherheit, Lagerung, Verwendung und Entsorgung aufwarfen, wurden sie durch FCKW und H-FCKW ersetzt. Kohlenwasserstoffe zum Beispiel haben ausgezeichnete thermodynamische Eigenschaften, sind \u201egr\u00fcn\u201c, aber da sie sehr brennbar sind, gibt es besondere Anforderungen an die Systeme, in denen sie verwendet werden.
