Background
The JSW Group is a Polish leading company in the production of high quality coking coal in Europe and works in four pits, including the Borynia-Zofiówka-Jastrzębie coal mine.
Purposes
The client’s requirement is to operate deeper and deeper and, therefore, to solve problems concerning the related increase of temperature. The most suitable solution is to develop a cooling system based on two circuits: an underground circuit and a surface system.
Project
Geoclima has developed two GNH 1350 kW chillers with ammonia for the surface cooling station.
The system has been designed to chill 300 mc/h of water from 29 °C down to 1,5 °C.
Results
The project has been able to satisfy the client’s specific requirements, demonstrating that Geoclima is able to provide suitable and customised solutions.
