Geoclima is ERP Ready

Geoclima is “ERP Ready” and anticipates the new regulations

Turbomiser by Geoclima largely exceeds all new minimum levels of efficiency, while ensuring the lowest environmental impact and up to 50% of energy savings.

On the 1st of January 2018 the EU Regulation 2016/2281 has officially come into force: the new regulation establishes the new minimum efficiency values for the air cooling and refrigeration units that are sold and installed in the European Union.

This Regulation implements the ErP (Energy related Products) Directive 2009/125/EC, establishing a framework for the setting of ecodesign requirements for energy-related products. The purpose is to progressively increase the efficiency of the machines installed on the European territory in order to reduce energy consumption, with consequent advantages both in economic and environmental terms.

The regulation establishes new minimum levels of efficiency and performance for different types of units depending on the type of application: the calculation is made over the entire life cycle of the machine, taking into account the actual operating conditions. There is therefore a clear distinction between comfort cooling applications – which involve seasonal operation – and process cooling applications – where the operation of the machine is not subject to seasonal variations. New more stringent limits will come into force in 2021.

Geoclima’s solutions – ERP READY

Geoclima is today able to provide “ERP READY” solutions with efficiency levels largely above the minimum values which will be set starting from 2021.

The Turbomiser range of chillers (including the new Circlemiser series), with the oil-free Turbocor compressors, ensures very high efficiency levels, resulting as the most efficient chiller on the HVAC market, for both comfort cooling and process cooling applications, at both full and partial load. As a further assurance for end users, efficiency values of our Turbomiser chillers are guaranteed by AHRI certification, both for air cooled (ACCL) and water cooled (WCCL) units.

In addition to this, the combination with the low GWP refrigerant HFO-1234ze ensures very high efficiency levels together with minimum environmental impact, thus making Turbomiser the best technology in terms of efficiency, performance and environmental impact.

COMFORT COOLING

For comfort cooling products, the new European regulation set the minimum space seasonal cooling energy efficiency level, expressed as ηs,c

The minimum values set by EU Regulation 2016/2281 Turbomiser
Units 01/01/2018 01/01/2021 Today
Air cooled < 400 kW 149 (3.8) 161 (4.1) 5.0
> 400 kW 161 (4.1) 179 (4.6) 5.6
Water cooled < 400 kW 196 (5.0) 200 (5.1) 7.1
400 – 1500 kW 227 (5.8) 252 (6.4) 7.6
> 1500 kW 245 (6.2) 272 (6.9) 8.1

PROCESS COOLING

For process cooling chillers, the new European regulation set the new seasonal energy performance ratio (SEPR)
